FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions1. Can you tell the gender of the baby?
In most cases, yes. If we cannot determine the gender and you want to know, you are welcome to come back for a second peek free of charge. You will be scheduled for a weekday morning appointment within two weeks of your original appointment. This appointment will be 5-10 minutes in length. If your OB/GYN tells you a different gender, we will ask you to come in for a 3rd opinion free of charge. Rarely, babies won’t allow for the right angle to determine gender; however, we offer a guarantee to determine gender or the exam will be free. If you do not want to know, we will make every effort to not record that part of the baby’s anatomy.
2. How much time should I allow for the viewing?
Allow 45 minutes for your 3D/4D visit and 1/2 hour for a 2D session. ACTUAL SCANNING TIME will be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes for 3D/4D sessions and 15-20 minutes for 2D sessions. This is to be determined by the individual sonographer performing your scan and scanning time may vary from one client to the next. The remaining time will be used for preparation and delivery of your photos, CDs, DVD videos and to process your payment.
3. How do I schedule an appointment?
You can contact us by phone at 904-268-1006 or email us at info@astorksview.com.
4. What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Wear comfortable 2 piece clothing – dresses are not recommended. You do not need to have a full bladder, although sometimes it can be helpful depending on the position of your baby at the time of your appointment. Please call A Stork’s View with any additional questions.
5. When are you open?
We are open 7 days a week! (Monday-Sunday, 9:00 am-8:00 pm.)
6. When is the best time for A Stork’s View 3D/4D ultrasound?
If you have your viewing before 24 weeks, babies have room to move around in the womb which makes for a fun video and you can see every part of your child. After 24 weeks, facial features are more developed. Some clients prefer both views and we offer a 25% discount on a second visit during the same pregnancy.
7. How many family members can I bring with me?
We have comfortable seating and excellent viewing on our large screen TV for UP TO 8 people. (This count includes adults and children.) We also have a play area for children in the viewing room. A Stork’s View offers free Wifi, so feel free to bring your Skype enabled device to allow friends and family everywhere to view your exam.
*Large or noisy groups may make your baby shy. Babies in the womb can hear and may turn away from noise or cover their face. In this event, a second appointment will not be scheduled.
8. How long will I have to wait for my videos, DVDs or pictures?
You will leave your appointment with all pictures, CDs, and DVDs included in the package you choose.
9. What if my baby won’t cooperate?
Sometimes babies are shy and don’t want to show us their face. If this happens, we will bring you back within 2 weeks for a 10-15 minute appointment at no charge. We are usually able to get great pictures the second time around. Please don’t eat a heavy meal before your appointment or the baby may sleep during the ultrasound. There are no refunds for any scan performed. Picture quality is unpredictable, even for the same mother during the same pregnancy.
10. What types of payment do you accept?
A Stork’s View accepts cash, debit cards, and all major credit cards. Sorry, only one discount per visit is allowed.
11. Do you accept insurance?
A Stork’s View ultrasounds are non-diagnostic and considered a supplemental service/elective procedure which is not covered under insurance policies at this time.
12. Will my pictures always be clear?
We will make every effort to obtain the best possible image, but every baby and mother scan differently based on gestational age, position, amount of fluid, mother’s size and amount of belly fat. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water 3-4 days prior to your appointment will help enable clearer views of your baby. There are no refunds for any scan performed. Picture quality is unpredictable, even for the same mother during the same pregnancy.
13. What is your cancellation policy?
We request at least a 24-hour cancellation notice. We send a reminder text message to all scheduled clients the day before your scheduled appointment requesting confirmation or cancellation of your appointment. If we are unable to reach you to confirm your appointment by 8:00 pm the day before you are scheduled to come in, that appointment will automatically be cancelled and offered to another expectant mother.
14. What happens if I schedule an appointment and don’t
show up for it?
We understand that things come up and life happens. However, if you schedule an appointment with us and either (a) NO-SHOW or (b) cancel last minute (same day), we reserve the right to refuse any future services. In the event that you wish to schedule another appointment with us, we require ADVANCE PAYMENT IN FULL plus a $25 NO-SHOW/LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION FEE in order to reschedule you. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
15. What if I am late to my appointment?
Your appointment time will be shortened so that it ends on time for the next client. If you are running so late that your sonographer does not have enough time to get some images for you or find the gender, it will be treated as a “no show” and incur the rescheduling fee to be scheduled for another time.
16. Do you accept adoption clients?
We do! We welcome clients to confirm pregnancy, gender or 3D4D appointments. These appointments are treated just as an appointment booked by the client themselves with the exception of EDD and gender information may be sent via text to the adoption agency. If pictures, extra documentation or third party billing is required, an adoption agency representative will need to be present. Otherwise, pictures will be given to the client at the appointment.
